Resolved Question: Why is my rent more than some people mortages?
I was very shocked when I found out some people are paying $1000 mortage to live in a beautiful 4br 2 bathroom house on long island and me and my fiancé is living in a crappy 2 br 1 bath apt in far rockaway new York for $1500 per month not including utilities I understand supply and demand but come on now does anyone know where we can get a rent to own house or something in queens near our jobs please help thanks
We’re 18 and 19 we pay rent in cash on time we have no credit I think and have the receipts no I don’t have 25% down payment but my friend parents just bought a house in Atlantic beach and they said they didn’t have to pay a down payment but pays $5000+ a month mortage
Why is rent to own not good for the buyer I’m pregnant and really don’t want my baby in that apartment I think it has asbestos it’s really old and some ppl are on public assistance and are only paying $50 for 3 bedroom in the same building it’s not fair ;(
No we pay lipa national grid and hot water sorry they just purchased it they’re not that much older than us
We have no problem paying the bills btw he pays the bills and my money is saved for the baby and can afford $2300 a month that’s nothing but I want to pay $1000 lol

I leave 45 mins away from the inner city with traffic
I leave in a big house for 10 years
My parents are in their 50s
I’m a in college
We have large bills
We took out a second mortage
We pay about 1800 a month for mortage I think
But
The place my mom wants to move
Is in a downtown area
Smaller space
Closer to restuarntes
And actually have a bus nearby
However it’s 2250 or 2200 a month
Plus 150 or 100 dollars per parking space
My parents have 5 cars (1 is for work, my mom has 1, my dad can’t spend money wisely so he has 3 that are used) althought we would only have 2 parking spaces
The bills altogether are 68 dollars
It’s 6.8 miles away from their work
The point of the move is to downsize. My parents have alot to pay off especially my high school bill for 35,000 dollars. And I’m in college. But also my mom doesn’t want to lose her comfort or what she’s used to. She’s high matainace but she does work hard soo hard so shederserves a nice space. But does this sound like a good idea

Resolved Question: getting earnest money back after financing fell through?
We had an accepted offer on a house with a $500 earnest money check down pending an inspection. We had the inspection done, but never got the report from it and the 10 days past we had past before we were able to get it. After the appraisal the house had repairs that were needed in order for it to pass fha guidelines. The sellers were gone and said they would not do them so we went to do them and realized it was wayyyyyyyyy to much work and we backed out. Our mortage guy wrote it up that we did not receive financing due to it not passing the fha inspection, so we thought we were going to get our money back. Well the relocation company Serva said we signed something saying they would finance us if this happened and they are holding our money, although they don’t have any of our information or even know if we qualify through them.
Any suggestions on what we can do to try to get our money back?

Our house was in my girlfriends name. she gave the house up as part of a bankruptcy. We continue to live there for nearly 5 years without paying mortage, taxes, HOA fees etc. We are now having problems. 1. does she have the legal right to make me leave the house? 2. If I file a restraining order, can I keep her from coming to the house if I am there?
